Badminton

I've been playing provincial and national tournaments for over 10 years now and still love it! The game is just so fast-paced and fun. My favorite shot has got to be the cross slice since it can be very deceptive at times. I also love diving for no reason to save shots.

Some Notable Achievements:

  • 20+ Alberta Junior Circuit (AJC) medals across singles, doubles & mixed — U11 through U19
  • Alberta Schools' Athletic Association (ASAA) Mixed Doubles Gold — 2023 & 2024
  • Badminton Ontario Campus Grand Prix 1st Place — 2026

Chess

Checkmate! Like badminton, I've played chess competitively for quite some time now. Although sitting 4+ hours straight just to play some random moves on a chessboard may seem boring, I really enjoy the mental (and physical...) challenge involved. There's always something to work on whether it's tactics, positional play, defense, or endgames.

Some Notable Achievements:

  • Alberta Youth Championships U12 2nd Place — 2019
  • Canadian Youth Chess Championship (CYCC) U14 Top 25 — 2021
  • Alberta Chess Challenge Grade 10 & 11 2nd Place — 2023 & 2024

Pokémon

Yeah... Now you know why the portfolio is Pokémon themed. I've been collecting cards since the good old days when I was in elementary school. Currently, I have all my hits stored in a binder and their values are going up like crazy. I've never actually graded any of my cards or gone to a card show so I guess I'm not a true fan yet.

I also enjoy battling and playing the Pokémon TCG Pocket Game with my friends!
